    • Hendry's Beach 2981 Cliff Dr (next to the entrance of The Boathouse restaurant) Santa Barbara, CA, 93109

Join fellow walkers at Hendry's Beach (aka Arroyo Burro Beach County Park) every Tuesday and Thursday morning at 8:40 to walk the beach, visit, make new friends and catch up with old friends, spot whales and dolphins, and get fresh air and exercise. We'll meet at the top of the stairs down to the beach, between The Boathouse restaurant and the lifeguard stand. Some of us walk fast, and some of us stroll. We suggest wearing appropriate shoes to walk on the beach or up to the nearby Douglas Preserve, when the tide is high. After the walk, we will often gather at the picnic tables near our starting point, and share a snack and conversation. Hope to see you there!

    • Franklin Trailhead on Meadow View Lane

    New Start Time is 8:30am

No Hike if it is Raining

    FRANKLIN TRAIL CARPINTERIA

The historic Franklin trail starts near Carpinteria High School, then winds through avocado groves heading north into the Los Padres National Forest.  The Franklin trail was built by the US Forest Service in 1913 to provide recreational access to the backcountry and is the oldest trail in the Santa Barbara front country.  It eventually leads all the way to the Jameson Reservoir on the far side of the mountains.  We will hike the first leg (of 3 total) of the trail on Friday.  The first leg is 2.2 miles, (up and back is 4.4 miles).  The hike is not hard, ~1000 ft elevation gain, and round trip is about 2 hours for the first leg.  The last mile is composed of switchbacks that allow for wonderful views of the Carpinteria valley and the ocean.  As it is an out and back trail, there is an option to go further for those that may want to hike a longer distance.

Here is a map of the entire trail.

Here is a map link to parking.  This is not the trailhead, but it is where we will park and meet.  Go south on the 101 from SB and exit on Linden in Carpinteria.  Turn north on Linden, (toward the mountains) go left (west) on Meadow View Lane.  Park  near the end of Meadow View.  We will meet at the yellow Yield sign at the  end of Meadow View Lane.

    • 2840 De La Vina Street, Suite D Santa Barbara, CA, 93105

Validation Annex is the newest location of Validation Ale, a craft brewery restaurant with a unique concept that engages customers in deciding what is brewed next. Validated beer is pit against a new Vying recipe of similar type to see if the new brew should take over as the primary tap.

The space is more handsome than most expect for a local brewery with curved walnut panels, massive doors and windows, and clean modern restrooms…And because no one likes fighting for a bartender’s attention, Validation Ale allows you to start, manage, and/or close your tab by using one of the QR codes on the bar and tables. Also, thanks to the reverse-osmosis tap on the wall, you never have to ask for water. “I’ve been home brewing for 12 years, and I’ve always wanted a brewery,” says the owner Brian. “But whether you’re a beer nerd like me or you’ve only had Coors your whole life, you’re welcome either way. We want this to be about community.”

TGIF events are a great way to start the weekend in a fun, relaxing setting. At TGIF, you will make new friends, catch up with existing friends and get to know the local restaurants and bars. With no registration required, the events are open Newcomers and graduates...and attendees can bring a friend along. Come join us Newbies!

This is a pay-as-you-go event. Please note that tips are not included in the price of food an beverages. We want to leave a positive in the community at all times and remain consistent with the Club's values, by treating everyone with respect.

    • Rattlesnake Canyon Trailhead

    Several Water Crossings!

Rattlesnake Canyon Trail. We will hike the beautiful Rattlesnake Canyon trail on Friday.  This is one of Santa Barbara's most popular trails.  (The Rattlesnake Trail is named for its curves, not creatures).

Rattlesnake is a moderately difficult hike with 3 water crossings. A more strenuous option continuing to Gibraltar Rd. from the meadow area is possible (if open) for those who wish.  The main group will hike the familiar trail to and from the meadow.  This is an out and back hike - go at your own pace and turn back anytime.

Bring hiking poles to help with stream crossings.

Hiking Distance:  3.0 miles out and back to the meadow with an elevation  gain of 1000 '.For those going up to Gibraltar Rd.  it is 4.5 miles out and back with a total with 1600' of elevation gain.

Hiking times: 2-2.5 hours  (go at your own pace).

    • Satellite Restaurant & Bottle Shop, 1117 State Street Santa Barbara, CA, 93101

Satellite is a true standout in Santa Barbara, celebrated for its Farm-to-glass approach to wine, focusing on small growers and low-intervention wines. This space-themed gem is a playground for both connoisseurs and the wine-curious. If wine isn't for you, their Sunshine Spritz is super-refreshing, citrusy, sunshine in a glass.

It’s the food, however, that consistently earns them "Best of Santa Barbara" accolades; their award-winning menu offers more than a few craveable dishes. From the Yoga Pants Salad to the mind-blowingly delicious Grilled Cheese or Focaccia, Satellite proves that sustainable cuisine can be the most indulgent meal in town.

    • La Arcada Plaza, 1114 State St. Unit 26, Santa Barbara

Join us for a lovely evening at the Barbieri and Kempe tasting room - located in the “arcade” on state street. With both inside and patio seating, this is a great location to enjoy a Santa Barbara evening. They offer wine, non alcoholic drinks and charcuterie platters.  And, they are dog friendly!

Barbieri wines focus on varietals that are found in the famous Rhone region of France. This includes Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Syrah from many of the best vineyards near Los Olivos, Buellton, and two recently acquired vineyards in Santa Rita Hills. These environments, elevations, and soils vary drastically, allowing us to produce many different styles of wine.

Kempe Wines was born, starting with Petite Sirah and Cabernet Sauvignon. The following year, Kempe added two Pinot Noirs and the “Bianco” white wine with Grenache Blanc and Viognier. By 2016, Kempe Wines was made official with a full flight list of rose, white, and red wines.
