    • Hendry's Beach 2981 Cliff Dr (next to the entrance of The Boathouse restaurant) Santa Barbara, CA, 93109

Join fellow walkers at Hendry's Beach (aka Arroyo Burro Beach County Park) every Tuesday and Thursday morning at 8:40 to walk the beach, visit, make new friends and catch up with old friends, spot whales and dolphins, and get fresh air and exercise. We'll meet at the top of the stairs down to the beach, between The Boathouse restaurant and the lifeguard stand.

Some of us walk fast, and some of us stroll. We suggest wearing appropriate shoes to walk on the beach or up to the nearby Douglas Preserve, when the tide is high.

After the walk, we will often gather at the picnic tables near our starting point, and share a snack and conversation. Hope to see you there!

    • Santa Cruz Island
Happy Hikers and Watersports are collaborating to deliver an incredible day on Santa Cruz Island. We will take a boat from Ventura Harbor to the island where you will have the choice of hiking or kayaking (or both). Everyone will need to book their own reservation for the boat directly from Island Packers. Kayakers also need to reserve their kayaks with Channel Island Kayak Center AND space on the boat for the kayak with  Island Packers.

There is no food or water on the island so you will need to bring everything you need for the day. Food/snacks, drinking water, towels, hiking poles, etc.  We will be exposed to the sun all day so bring: sunscreen, hats, etc.

Hikers can choose from two hikes (both out and back), one is from Scorpions Anchorage to Potato Harbor which is a moderate 5 mile hike and the second is a 7.5 mile strenuous hike from Scorpions Anchorage to Smugglers cove beach. These are trails that HH have done in the past and we will likely identify other hikes prior to the event. For more information on the hikes check here.

    Hike 1: Potato Harbor: (5 Mile)  https://www.alltrails.com/explore/trail/us/california/potato-harbor?mobileMap=false&ref=sidebar-static-

    Hike 2: Smugglers Cove: (7.7 mile)https://www.alltrails.com/explore/trail/us/california/smugglers-cove--2?mobileMap=false&ref=sidebar-static-map

We will depart from Island Packers in Ventura and take the 9:00am boat to Scorpion Cove on Santa Cruz Island and return on the 3:30pm boat from Scorpion Cove. You need to arrive at Island Packers in Ventura by 8:15am and are estimated to arrive back in Ventura around 5pm.

When you book your reservation if there isn't availability at these times (or you prefer) Island Packers has an 8am departure and a 4:30 pm return that you can choose. Carpools are recommended. The costs are as follows.

All participants must reserve space on the boat as a passenger.

Those that are kayaking need to make two additional reservations.

    1. Space on the boat for your kayak through Island Packers

Single Kayaks     $23                                                   Double Kayaks $31

    2. Kayak rental (unless bringing your own)

This is done through Channel Islands Kayak Center at 805-984-5995

Single Kayaks     $35 all day                                      Double Kayaks $55 all day

Channel Islands Kayak Center is located directly next to Island Packers where we get on the boat. You will need to arrive at least one hour prior to departure to pick up your kayak, paddle and PFD.

YOU NEED TO RESERVE YOUR OWN BOAT PASSENGER TICKET AND SEAT AVAILIBILITY IS LIMITED SO RESERVE ASAP AT  https://www.islandpackers.com/book/day-trip-at-scorpion-anchorage/     or 805.642.1393

Join us for happy hour at M.Special Brewing Co., where great beer and great stories go hand in hand. Named after their Grandpa Emmett’s 1950s race cars — including the legendary Malloy Special that hit the Indy 500 — M.Special is a family-inspired brewery where anyone with an "M" in their name (yes, even the mailman) gets some naming cred.

Their beer lineup is as diverse as their crew, featuring the crisp M.Special American Lager, hop-forward favorites like Greatland IPA and Lazy Eye DIPA, and the smooth, malty Dozer Brown Ale. Swing by for TGIF and enjoy good vibes, great brews, and a happy hour that lives up to its name. Cheers!

Also, nestled within M. Special Brewery is the newly opened Downtown Eats if you are hungry
