Hello! We are a 500 member social club designed to introduce newcomers to Santa Barbara while meeting new friends and learning about our beautiful new community together. Our monthly calendar has over 50 activities to choose from, and has something for everyone. We have monthly Parties and Get Togethers at member homes and local restaurants; Shared interest groups are developed as we grow, including book club, bridge, gardening, writing, and maybe you have an interest and can start your own group!; Exploring Santa Barbara events open the doors for you to Performing Arts, local heritage tours, architecture and design tours and visual arts at various galleries and artist studios. Outdoor Life events will take you sailing, hiking, biking, golfing, kayaking, walking and much more. Giving Back events will expose you to the philanthropic work of our Santa Barbara for you to find what makes sense for you.
We are working, retired, married, single, all ages, and from all over the country and the world. Our common desire to make Santa Barbara our home creates an instant sense of friendship and community among us, and we are all excited to meet new friends! Our organization is all volunteer and we have committees that run the monthly events, and a board that oversees our day to day operations and keeps us organized. The best way to get involved is to join a committee and help us make it all happen.
Please join us at our New Member Orientation Meeting. We offer this meeting the second Monday (if holiday, then 3rd Monday) of every month. We start with a meet-and-greet at 6:30 P.M. and the orientation meeting starts at 7:00 P.M. The location is 602 E Montecito Street in Santa Barbara, adjacent to the Ferguson Home Design Center. Look for the red Newcomers signs.
You will be greeted by current members and at the meeting you will meet our board members, who will give you a detailed description of the club and membership. You can join right away and get started signing up for events.
