Join fellow Newcomers for a night of science at the pub! This month, local ecologist Monica Matthews, M.S. is talking all things fire. We’ll learn how fire has shaped California’s landscape, why it isn’t always the enemy, and how prescribed burns can actually help create healthier, more resilient ecosystems.

Hosted by the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History, Science Pub brings fascinating local experts out of the lecture hall and into a much more casual setting.

There’s even a raffle benefiting science education with Museum swag up for grabs.
