Hot Springs Canyon Trail Loop

We will hike the very popular Hot Springs Canyon Trail which is a moderately steep loop 3.5 miles in length with 900 ft. of elevation gain. The hike is one of our shorter hikes up Hot Springs Canyon trail to the ruins of the Montecito Hot Springs Resort dating from the late 1870's. Depending on how much time we spend at the ruins this should be a 1-1/2 hour hike with options for more if desired along multiple trails.

DIRECTIONS: Meet at the Hot Springs trailhead on E. Mountain Drive. There is some street parking  From either direction on Fwy 101, exit at  Olive Mill Road and turn toward the mountains. Continue up Olive Mill Rd 1.0 mile, crossing East Valley Rd where name changes to Hot Springs Rd. After another 1.0 mile turn left on East Mountain Drive. Go approx. 1/4 mi. mile to trailhead on the right, at the Riven Rock intersection.  

Parking is limited so please car pool if possible.  A newcomer Michelle Janin has volunteered her courtyard for up to 5 cars.  Her address is  760 Riven Rock Rd.  It is about .4 miles from the trailhead.
