JESUSITA TRAIL TO INSPIRATION POINT – 8:30 AM. This is the longer way up to Inspiration Point, approaching from the west via San Roque Canyon and through the Moreno Ranch.  It can be done partially since it is an out and back trail. This is a mostly shaded and very scenic hike, offering ocean and city vistas as well as mountain views to the north of areas like Cathedral Peak. Distance: 6.5 miles round trip. Elevation gain: 1000 feet. Hiking Time 3.5 hours (go at your pace). Difficulty: moderate to strenuous.

DIRECTIONS:  Exit 101 at Las Positas and turn toward the mountains. Crossing State St., Las Positas becomes San Roque. Continue on San Roque past 192. (You can also get to San Rogue via 192.)  Go 1/2 mile past 192 and park at the Cater Water Filtration Plant, the trail head for Jesusita.
