Join us on a docent led tour of British Art from Whistler to WW II. This is a unique opportunity to experience and discuss the story of modernism unique to England: the persistence of figuration even as the lessons from continental avant-garde practice were absorbed.
We will also view a series of dramatic WW II photographs, Sir Cecil Beaton's "London's Honorable Scars" which captures the devastation and resilience of London during the Nazi Blitz of 1940 - 41.
Join us at 2:00 pm for snacks and socializing at Viva Modern Mexican 1114 State Street. Or meet us at the museum for the 3:00 pm tour.
