About
The Santa Barbara Newcomers Club was formed to help you make new friends as you learn about your new home town with its multitude of social, cultural and civic activities. The club was founded in 1955 and has over 450 current members. You will be part of a Santa Barbara tradition with over 50 events a month to join in and make friends.
We come from all over the country…and the world. We’re singled and married, working and retired, and from every background you can imagine. We’re active and social, and united in our love for Santa Barbara.
You are eligible to join Newcomers within 18 months of moving to the area (from Goleta to Carpinteria). You initially belong for two years, but members who have been active on committees may join for a third year.
Our club is run solely by volunteers and is not-for-profit. A monthly newsletter is sent to all members and is the best resource for finding and attending our many activities. (View Sample Newsletter)
